Chris Fix
Co-Founder & Instructor For the past 16 years, Chris Fix has internalized and spread the good word of road cycling and indoor cycling. Chris’ classes take riders through all the elements of a professional training ride – climbs, attacks, intervals, “pulls”, and time trial work. Riders work both aerobic and anaerobic thresholds so they can improve their cardiovascular fitness levels and control their mental energy. His successes in the world of business and corporate leadership parlay seamlessly into the studio where he exhibits and innate ability to personally connect and pull maximum effort from each participant. Chris is originally from New York City and has cycled in a variety of places including Australia and Colorado. While in Colorado, Chris cycled many of the state’s highest mountain passes including: Juniper (11,140 feet), Hoosier (11,542 feet), Loveland (11,990 feet), and Cottonwood Pass (12,126 feet). He has also cycled Mount Evans, North America’s highest paved road at 14,264 feet. Chris has completed multi-tour rides including Minneapolis to Chicago and Boston to New York. Prior to dedicating his life to cycling, Chris founded an executive search firm, worked as a Management Consultant for IBM and as a Senior Investment Banking Officer specializing in mergers and acquisitions of financial institutions. Chris has an MBA from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Boston University.

Courtney-Celeste Brown
Instructor For the past 13 years, Courtney has been involved in the fitness industry. She started as a group instructor specializing in step classes. As her education evolved, she became more specialized in total body training based on the basics she learned while attaining her National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certification and currently teaches group classes based on these principles. It was after a serious car accident that she realized her true physical potential and challenged herself to participate in Indiana University’s Little 500 Bicycle Race. Within two months, she successfully completed the 100-lap race and her team finished in the top 20. After graduation, Courtney packed her bike and moved to Florida where she completed two “century” rides. Now in the instructor’s chair, her classes combine cadence and resistance changes designed to burn calories and build stamina while increasing lean muscle mass. The primary objective of Courtney’s cycling instruction is to help riders achieve a lifetime of health and fitness. In addition to teaching spin classes at Velocity Cycling Studio, Courtney teaches body sculpt classes. She has a B.A. from the Ernie Pyle School of Journalism at Indiana University.

Blake Stouffer
Co-Founder & Instructor Blake first started indoor cycling in the third quarter of 2008 at the strong and persistent urging of his dear wife Gina…after having attained “max” lifetime density. He was so out of shape that it took three sessions with his new cycle commander, Chris Fix, before he could finish an hour class. Six weeks later, 15 pounds had been shed and the “road to recovery” was clear in the distance. Then our old gym closed…which was entirely unacceptable. Six months later, again on Chris’ wheel, Velocity Cycling Studio opened its doors and the riding and camaraderie continued in earnest. Sixty five pounds shed and counting. Blake attended and played football for both the United States Air Force Academy and Central Michigan University earning both a BA and MBA. In addition to his business development duties at Velocity, Blake is the Managing Member for Skyh Creative, a firm specializing in custom publishing, identity and high end photography.

Victoria Smith
Instructor Victoria was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Victoria’s interest in cycling came about as a result of a doctor’s advice while experiencing pain in both knees. “You need to build your upper leg muscles”, the doctor advised. “The best way to do that is by getting on a bike and using it every day. If you stop using it, the pain will return. If surgery is not an option, your bicycle should become your new religion”. That same day, Victoria signed up for a “spin class” at her local gym in Buenos Aires. She loved the class and has not slowed down since. That was 10 years ago. Incidentally, she never suffered from knee pain again. Victoria believes in healthy eating, positive energy, and a peaceful attitude towards life. She has a BA from University of Buenos Aires, with a major in Communication.
